In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Iowa Central students celebrated with the Afro-Latino festival! Students had the choice of which country or person to research and create a display with the information.

Aleah Sherman researched Peru for her festival display. Her favorite part was learning about the different countries.

McKenna Mitchell loved Cuba’s culture and decided to research Celia Cruz based on her strong voice and her neat story.

Debra’s country was Venezuela. Debra loved researching and learning new information, she even found out Venezuela has it’s own Afro-Latino Festival each year!
