Last week an inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center because of a medical emergency. At 10:18 Thursday night, James Glen Merical, 47, was pronounced dead. The Department of Commerce stated that they don’t suspect any sort of foul play related to Merical’s death. Merical was sentenced back in 1997 for 25 years due to a second-degree kidnapping and a first-degree robbery. His release date was planning to be scheduled sometime in 2039.
